Happy Ending or End of the World?

Someone told me one time that they preferred an 'unhappy' ending to a 'happy' ending because it was more 'realistic' to what was happening in the world. Happy endings were too 'rose-coloured-glasses' for them.

I, on the other hand, prefer happy endings. There's too many crappy things in this world, why would I want to read an unhappy ending? I already see it on TV, hear it on the radio, read it in the newspaper.

Wait... that reminds me of The Pirate Movie!
